Update: Probe clears border agents in death of Nigerian man who died while being deported from Canada Bolanle Idowu Alo, 49, went into medical distress during an altercation with Canada Border Service Agency officers on a plane prior to takeoff.  Calgary Police on Tuesday, said Canadian border officers acted appropriately and are not responsible for the death of a Nigerian man who died while they were trying to deport him at the Calgary airport in August 2018. Alo was on board a KLM flight destined for Amsterdam when he had an altercation with two CBSA officers who were escorting him from the country. The plane was forced to return to the gate, where the Calgary Police Service's airport unit was called to the scene.     Officers found Alo in medical distress. 15 migrants die of hunger after getting stranded in a boat - United Nations 15 Ethiopian migrants have died after the boat trying to smuggle them into Yemen broke down and left them stranded at sea without food or water for a week, the U.N. migration agency said. A Nigerian man who was jailed two months ago over a scheme to swindle Citibank in New York City has been charged to court again today, July 31st for a fresh offence of cheating. Amos Paul Gabriel, 48, was charged via video-link for cheating a person named Milled Ed Khouri, who was at Changi Prison Complex between January and May last year with Amos. He is accused of deceiving the victim into delivering AUD40,000 (S$37,745) to another person by telling him the money would be used to post bail for him. Amos is currently serving a three-year jail term meted out on May 16 for money laundering and traffic offences. He was involved in a broader money-laundering scheme involving transfers of about US$27.2 million to accounts in the United States, Australia, Japan, China, Hong Kong and Korea.
